In our earlier blog, we talked about biological pollutants and their presence in the home. These pollutants are known to cause health issues for some people. However, because the symptoms caused by biological pollutants could be the result of many other health issues, it is good to receive an accurate diagnosis from a medical professional. Before you visit your doctor, here are some points to consider:

Have you recently moved house or had some work done such as insulation, weatherstripping, or storm windows installed? If you have, would you say your health problems started before or after the work was done?
If you have been experiencing trouble breathing, tiredness, headaches, dry throat, or fever, do your symptoms seem to improve or disappear after spending time out of doors?
Are there particularly high levels of humidity in your home? Do you smell musty odors in your home, indicating some type of water intrusion?
Has it been some time since you last changed the filters in your air conditioning units?
If you can answer yes to all or some of these questions, there is a chance that bio pollutants are causing health problems. Be sure to discuss these questions with your health care practitioner.
